I’ve seen much worse female “armor”, unfortunately. But still. Relying on that stupid shit is not only sexist— it’s an uncreative copout.

Basically, it’s relying on cliched, problematic visual shorthand that someone else has already established for you, rather than actually giving the design (or the sexism behind the so-oft bare-skinned lassies of the fantasy genre) any thought.

This artist obviously gave the men some thought, and forged their own ideas by synthesizing existing material with real, old fashioned arms and armor. Why was Black Widow not worth that?

how about that that black widow is clearly done in a dagger based rogue design. This means minimal armor and design geared 100% for mobility. If she were a man chances are she would have no shirt and a cross brace for holding more daggers

or how about the fact that her being overly sexualized is part of the basis of her character and how she performs. Remember the scene of her from the avengers, or some of her solo work? She uses her sexuality as a bait and a feignt.

but nope, you’d rather have her be unrealistically burly and gigantic for a woman that fights that style, or anyone that fights that style for that matter because it fits better into your bullshit “everyone is the same” crap

Men and women are different, hammer wielding god and dagger wielding rogue are different. grow the fuck up and get over your excuse to feel indignant and angry.
